Dear Isaac,

Welcome to the 2006 World Salsa Championships

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the World Salsa Federation, Inc., I would like to welcome everyone to the 2006 World Salsa Federation Championships. This year I am sure we will celebrate with record attendance at our wonderful facility, the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in Miami Florida.

During the exciting weekend, the WSF has put together a fantastic array of Salsa experts in almost every style imaginable. With workshops being offered from beginners through advanced levels, and dance parties every night, meeting new people and making new friends will be unavoidable.

If this is a return visit for you, we are glad you have chosen to join us again this year. If you are a first time attendee, we hope you will enjoy all that the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming facilities have to offer, and will make this an annual pilgrimage.

The WSF is committed to providing new inroads in Salsa worldwide from certifying teachers, giving awards to amateurs for excellence, training certified Judges, and having a basis for Salsa as a sport as well as a recreational activity. The WSF is proud to have Salsa and its syllabus as the official syllabus for the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

This year, the World Salsa Federation will host a world record 10 World Salsa Championships! Over 2 days, competitors will have an opportunity to be World Champions in their style and then go head to head for the title of Undisputed World Salsa Champion. The Undisputed World Salsa Champions will represent the best of Salsa competitive dancing, and will represent the WSF world-wide. Also included this year for the second time ever, will be the World Youth Salsa Championships. The youth come to this event with unsurpassed energy and enthusiasm. Come watch them compete as these young people will be our future Salsa Stars!!

Isaac and Laura (founders of the WSF) win $5000 in dance contest on the TV show Dimelo Bailando and are crowned GRAND CHAMPIONS! Over 70 teams competed!

Spanish Broadcasting System Launches New U.S. Hispanic Television Channel, MEGA TV

Dímelo Bailando: The dance contest takes center stage as we witness couples vying for the crown as South Florida’s top dancers. “Dímelo Bailando” is about passion, skill, rhythm and the desire (and talent!) to be the very best. Each week 10 couples start elimination trials until only one remains as the pulse-pounding competition reaches its zenith during finals. The final week brings all the champions back for a tournament that’s bound to have everyone on the edge of their seats wondering who will win the ultimate prize!

Join the WSF for fun and excitement at the University of Notre Dame, in Indiana! Learn some new steps and styles of Salsa in all levels from the best in the World. Dance to the hot sounds of Grupo Eclipse, direct from Miami, and enjoy our All-Star Dance Show! This is something you won't want to miss.

Due to the large amounts of emails we get each week requesting where to take dance lessons, where to go dancing and inquiries on performance groups, the WSF is opening a page to list such information.

The WSF World Guide will help the dance enthusiast to find exactly what they are searching for. It is now in construction but will be an ongoing project. If you want to be listed, please contact the WSF.
Need some good Latin Music? The WSF can help you! In progress is another great service from the WSF, our Latin Music Page. Have any suggestions on music we should list? Drop us a line and let us know!
The first WSF Dance Party and Showcase held last week was a complete success! Willie Panama wowed the audience with 3 of his songs on his new CD. The performances were outstanding, ranging from Salsa, Samba, Tango, and a troupe doing a Polynesian show! The general dancing was superb with music provided by DJ Matos.

Come join us for our next one on Saturday, May 20th!

Our winner of the Ipod Nano is Mr. Emile Derek Boyle from Burke, Va. Congratulations!!
